10. If Create a New or upgrade an Existing database is selected and an existing Security Manager database

exists, the installation program displays the Database Already Exists window. Select the option to use the

existing database or to re-initialize the database.

The Use existing database option will upgrade the database if it is an older version than the Security

Manager installation version.

CAUTION: If Re-initialize database option is selected, any existing data is permanently deleted.

11. In the HP JetAdvantage Security Manager Security Settings window, select a type of digital certicate for

secure client communication, and then click Next.

Use an existing certicate - Select this option to allow HP Security Manager communicate via HTTPS

protocol with a pre-existing certicate present in the certicate store. (In MMC, locate the Certicates

(Local Computer), and then open the Personal folder)

Create a self-signed certicate - Select this option to allow HP Security Manager communicate via

HTTPS protocol by creating a new self-signed certicate.

NOTE: Make sure that the system where HP Security Manager intends to install to is added to the domain

and congured with correct DNS. After installation, this new certicate is valid for 5 years.
