Item Component Function

Power button When the notebook is:

■ Off, press the button and release to turn

on the notebook.

■ In Standby, press the button and release

to exit Standby.

■ In Hibernation, press the button and

release to exit Hibernation.

If the system has stopped responding

and Windows shutdown procedures

cannot be used, press and hold the button

for 5 seconds to turn off the notebook.

Caps lock LED On: Caps lock is on.

Num lock LED On: Num lock is on and the embedded

numeric keypad is enabled.

Display lid switch ■ If the notebook is closed while on, turns

off the display.

■ If the notebook is opened while in

Standby, turns on the notebook (resumes

from Standby).

TouchPad button Turns the TouchPad on or off.

TouchPad scroll area Scrolls upward or downward.

Left and right TouchPad

buttons

Function like the left and right buttons on

an external mouse.

TouchPad Moves the pointer and selects or activates

items on the screen.

TouchPad LED On: TouchPad is enabled.
