Beginning with the HP-UX 8.0

release, C development will be

centered on a new CIANSI C

environment. This recommended

CIANSI C development environ-

ment meets the applicable ANSI

(X3.159-1989 ANSI C) and

POSIX

(P1003.2 Draft 9) standards.

The new HP-UX 8.0 operating en-

vironment, HP-UX Run-Time, has

a minimal C compiler. If you use

the C development environment

extensively, you should purchase

the new CIANSI C compiler prod-

uct

(PIN B2371A) or the C/ANSI
