Intel USB 3.0

eXtensible Host

Controller Driver

is not compatible

with Windows 8.

Download and install driver version

1.0.6.245 and restart the computer before

installing Windows 8.

Remove all USB Devices from the USB

3.0/2.0 ports. Do not have anything

connected to the USB 2.0 ports except a

keyboard and mouse. Then, start the

upgrade to Windows 8.

NOTE:

If you started the Windows 8

Upgrade process without updating

to driver version 1.0.6.254 or higher

and you see a blue screen with the

error 0x7B,

INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE, use

the Repair Your Computer option

when the computer tries to start up,

download and install Intel USB 3.0

eXtensible Host Controller Driver

version 1.0.6.245, restart the

computer, and then start the

Windows Upgrade process again.

Windows

Security

Essentials is not

compatible with

Windows 8.

Uninstall Windows Security Essentials

before upgrading to Windows 8.

AMD Graphics

Catalyst Control

Center is not

compatible with

Windows 8.

Uninstall the Catalyst Control Center before

upgrading to Windows 8.
