Matching the Port and Device Characteristics
TYPE
The TYPE characteristic indicates the device attached to the port.
Device Types
The following table lists device types available for each port of the access server:

Local> CHANGE PORT 5 TYPE HARDCOPY
Device Type Applies to:
Hardcopy Printers
Softcopy Non-ANSI video terminals
ANSI (default) Most video terminals such as the VT100. This causes the
screen to clear before each display and enables command-line
recall.
