Type of data pattern: default data pattern or custom.Data Pattern

• Default Pattern(00-FF-00): Three passes with the following dummy data patterns: “00”

for the first pass, “FF” for the second pass, and “00” for the third pass.

• Data Pattern(User Setting): Selected to define the number of passes and the data pattern

for each pass.

Volume Shredder selects a 4-digit hexadecimal number at random to be used as the dummy

data pattern for the pass.

Random Data

Enter a hexadecimal number (from 0 to FFFF) to be used as the dummy data for the

user-defined pass.

Define Data

Adds the user-defined data pattern to the Data Pattern(User Setting) table. This button is

available only when you select Data Pattern(User Setting) for the Data pattern type.
