23.3 Volumes
Volumes are logical storage spaces provisioned in storage pools. You can create multiple volumes
with the same configuration using a volume template.
23.3.1 Roles
• Minimum required privileges: Infrastructure administrator, Storage administrator, or Network
administrator

• Create, add, edit, and delete a volume
23.3.3 About volumes
Volumes are logical storage spaces that are provisioned in storage pools on storage systems.
Volumes are associated with server profiles through volume attachments. Attaching a server profile
to a volume gives the server hardware to which the server profile is assigned access to storage
space on a storage system.
Using volume templates, you can create multiple volumes with the same configuration.
23.4 Volume templates
You can use volume templates to create multiple volumes with the same configuration.
23.4.1 Roles

23.4.3 About volume templates
A volume template is a logical resource that enables you to create a standard configuration from
which multiple volumes can be created.
23.5 SAN Managers
A SAN manager is a hardware or software system that manages SANs. A SAN manger is not
required to attach a volume to a server profile, but SAN managers enable automated zoning fabric
zoning.
23.5.1 Roles
• Minimum required privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Storage administrator

• Add, edit, and remove a SAN manager
• Associate a managed SAN with a network
• Turn automated zoning on or off for a managed SAN
