3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet

and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

4. Remove the battery (see

Battery on page 38), and then remove the following components:

a. Memory module/wireless module compartment cover (see

Memory module on page 39)

b. Optical drive (see

Optical drive on page 50).

c. Top cover (see

Top cover on page 51)

Remove the keyboard:

1. Turn the top cover upside down, with the front toward you.

2. Slide the keyboard retention clips toward the bottom of the top cover.

3. Turn the top cover right-side up, with the front toward you.

4. Lift the rear edge of the keyboard (1) until it rests at an angle.

5. Release the keyboard (2) by sliding it up and back at an angle.
