Component Description

HP installer Installs the printing-system software based on the hardware it detects from the host computer.

Uninstaller Removes files and folders that were installed when the printing-system software was originally

installed on the computer.

File-to-email utility Collects crash logs and attaches the data files to an email to assist troubleshooting an installation

or operation failure.

Scrubber utility A standalone utility used remove all the installation files and folders that were installed with the

printing system software was originally installed in the computer.

LogAnalyzer utility A utility that lists and describes the files that were downloaded with the printer software.

Driver software Use the driver software to print with the computer and the product.

This software includes the following drivers:

The HP PCL 6 discrete print driver. The HP PCL 6 discrete print driver is installed by default.

The HP PCL 5 Universal print driver (UPD). This print driver is not installed by default. To

install the HP PCL 5 UPD, download it from

www.hp.com/go/upd, and then use the

Microsoft Add Printer Wizard.

The HP PCL 6 Universal print driver (UPD). This print driver is not installed by default. To

install the HP PCL 6 UPD, download it from

www.hp.com/go/upd, and then use the

Microsoft Add Printer Wizard.

NOTE: The HP UPD is a single driver designed to work with a variety of HP products. The

HP PCL 6 discrete drivers are designed to work with specific products.

The HP PS Universal Print Driver (UPD). This print driver is not installed by default. To install

the HP PS UPD, download it from

www.hp.com/go/upd, and then use the Microsoft Add

Printer Wizard.

HP Help & Learn Center This program provides help for using the product, as well as links to Web sites for product support

and supplies ordering. The HP Help and Learn Center also provides links to the user guide on the

CD and at

www.hp.com.
