The Storage Management Utility (SMU):

• Conﬁgures and manages system storage.

• Resides on t

he array controller as part of the array controller ﬁrmware.

• Is accessed from a remote server or workstation using a browser.

• Is username and password protected.

• Can be used

online while the system is operating.

• Includes an initial conﬁguration wizard, for fast-and-easy conﬁguration in simple environments.

• Includes a main user interface, for more ﬂexible and complete initial conﬁguration and subsequent

managemen

ttasks.

• Provides conﬁguration suggestions.

• Enables online array capacity expansion, logical drive capacity extension, assignment of spare

drives, a

nd RAID or stripe size migration.

• Minimum display settings: 1024 x 768 pixels resolution and 256 colors.

• Supported browser versions: Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.
