Working With Single-level Containers
Identifying Some Tasks to Perform After Creating a Stripe
Set
After you create a stripe set, you can:
Add a file system. See Chapter 9, Modifying Containers, for a
description of how to add a file system.
Assign a drive letter. See Chapter 6, Working with Container
Attributes, for a description of how to assign a drive letter.
Working with a Mirror Set
A mirror set is a single-level container made up of two equal-sized
partitions and two equal-sized freespaces that reside on two
different disks. A mirror set stores and maintains the same, or
redundant, data in each of the two partitions. See the Flexible Array
Storage Tool Users Guide for a complete description of mirror sets
and other container concepts.
To work with a mirror set, you must understand:
The mirror set attributes you can specify
How to create a mirror set
Mirror set creation in a NetWare environment
Mirror set creation in a UNIX environment
Some tasks to perform after creating the mirror set
The following sections discuss each of these topics.
Understanding the Mirror Set Attributes You Can Specify
You use the container create mirror command to create a
mirror set. Before creating a mirror set, consider the following
mirror set attributes you can specify:
mirror disk capacity
I/O delay
synchronous or asynchronous mirror set
creation
