
IMPORTANT: Select this checkbox if the value of the user-dened setting must be unique for each device,
such as an identication number. This user-dened setting cannot be used to congure multiple devices or
in device conguration templates.

To allow the user-dened setting to be used when conguring multiple devices, clear the Hide when
conguring multiple devices checkbox.
5. Click the OK button.
6. On the message window, click the OK button.
Delete user-dened settings
After a user-dened setting is deleted, all of the current and historical data that was saved for the setting is lost
and the user-dened setting is removed from any templates and scheduled tasks.
1. Go to Tools > Options > Device Management > Conguration > User Dened.
2. Select the user-dened settings from the list, and then click the Delete button.
3. On the Delete User Dened Setting window, verify that the correct user-dened settings are listed, and
then click the OK button.
4. On the message window, click the OK button.
Import user-dened settings
1. Go to Tools > Options > Device Management > Conguration > User Dened.
2. Click the Import button. The Import User-Dened Settings wizard starts.
3. On the Select le page, click the Browse button.
4. On the Open window, navigate to and select the le, and then click the Open button.
5. To replace duplicate user-dened settings with the user-dened settings in the XML le, select the
Overwrite duplicate user-dened settings checkbox.
IMPORTANT: If a user-dened setting that already exists in HP Web Jetadmin is overwritten by a user-
dened setting in the XML le that has the same name, note the following issues:
●
Templates and user-dened data for the devices lose the values for the overwritten user-dened
settings.
●
To display the overwritten user-dened settings correctly, the HP Web Jetadmin service must be
restarted.
●
The columns for the overwritten user-dened settings in HP Web Jetadmin must be reselected.

To prevent duplicate user-dened settings from being imported into HP Web Jetadmin, clear the Overwrite
duplicate user-dened settings checkbox.
6. Click the Next button.
7. On the Conrm page, verify that the correct XML le is selected, and then click the Import button.
8. On the Results page, click the Done button.
