4-24 Fault Isolation
For example, if the system’s memory configuration consists of two 4-MB boards and
two 2-MB boards, and Self Test reports an error at Megabyte 5, the defective board
would be the 4-MB board in slot 0B.
When you identify a defective memory board, follow the memory board replacement
procedure in Chapter 5 to replace it.
4.3.2 MD Level LED Status Codes
At the MD level, while in Service mode, the front panel LEDs display system status

4.3.3 Test Stimulus Code Diagnostics
TSC diagnostics reside in the /SAU directory on the system disk. These diagnostics
thoroughly test the components of the CPU board, the keyboard, and the EtherLAN
network. TSC diagnostics report a test failure on the display and by lighting LED “A”
on the system unit’s front panel.
You can run TSC diagnostics from a system’s disk, from another disk on the network,
or (if the display is inoperative) through an SIO line to another system (refer to Ap-
pendix D for information about using the SIO line). For more information about TSC
diagnostics, refer to HP 9000 Series 200/300 Computers Test Tools Manual
.
