Common Commands

Use the shutdown command to administratively disable the interface (no data will be passed through). Use

the no form of this command to activate the interface.

Syntax Description

No subcommands.

Default Values

By default, all interfaces are disabled.

The following example administratively disables the modem interface:

(config)#interface modem 1/2
