Addressing 4kB Alignment Issues on Linux
Hosts
On Linux systems, the
fdisk utility with the -S option enables you to override the
default geometry of 63 sectors per track and specify a different number of
sectors for use by the partition tables.
Running
fdisk -S56 provides 4kB alignment automatically provides 4kB
alignment on created partitions. For example,

Windows 2003 and Windows XP Servers
