Hardware installation: Intelligent Peripheral Equipment module 4-21
Meridian MAX
Installation Guide
Product release 8
Refer to the Communication Port Assignment Sheet (Table 4-11) when
connecting peripherals to cables.
Inside the back of the CE/PE cabinet, to the left of the backplane cover, is
the NT8D11 CE/PE cabinet I/O panel, as shown in Figure 4-9. The key
telephone connectors of each four-port cable are connected to this panel.
The connectors on the panel are labeled with a letter between A and L.
Each lettered connector is connected to a corresponding slot at the front of
the Option 21–81.
Connect the four-port cables to the CE/PE cabinet connectors. Make sure
the connectors are secure. Table 4-5 shows to which connectors on the I/O
panel Cable A (NT1R03AA) and Cable B (NT1R03BA) connect depending
on the slot placement of the Meridian MAX IPE/IPE-E in the Option
21–81. For example, if your Meridian MAX IPE/IPE-E module occupied
slots 4, 5, 6, and 7, Cable A connects to connector H and Cable B connects
to connector E.

Intelligent Peripheral Equipment (IPE) cabinet
Two shielded four-port cables are used to connect the Meridian MAX
IPE/IPE-E to its supervisor workstation, printers, and other peripheral
devices. Cable A (NT1R03AA) has a 50-pin key telephone connector on
one end and four DB-25 female connectors on the other, as well as one
unused port reserved for future use, shown in Figure 4-14. Cable B
(NT1R03BA) is identical to Cable A except that it has only four DB-25
female connectors, shown in Figure 4-14.
