1-2 Introduction

Before you begin

This document describes the procedures to install the Meridian MAX

hardware and software. These procedures should only be carried out by

trained personnel.

Note: Not all products mentioned in this document are available

worldwide. Contact your Meridian MAX service representative for

more information.

Installation responsibilities

The following installation procedures are performed by your staff or the

Meridian 1 distributor:

• Obtain the hardware and software required for this installation.

• Install the Meridian 1 column (if applicable).

• Install the Meridian 1 switch (if applicable).

• Install the Meridian MAX Application Equipment Module(s) (if

applicable).

• Install the Meridian MAX hardware.

• Install and connect the peripheral equipment (printers, workstations,

and modems).

• Install the operating system and Meridian MAX application software.

• Configure the Meridian MAX.

• Start up the system.

• Set up the High Speed Link and the Load Management Link (if

applicable) between the Meridian MAX and the Meridian 1.

• Connect the Meridian MAX to the LAN, if required.

• Establish all other connections to the Meridian MAX based on the

feature options which have been purchased.
