4-22 Hardware installation: Intelligent Peripheral Equipment module
553-4001-111 Standard 1.0 March 1997
Each of the eight DB-25 connectors can connect to a peripheral device.
Cable A services Ports 1, 3, 5, and 7. Cable B services Ports 2, 4, 6, and 8.
Refer to the Communication Port Assignment Sheet (see Table 4-11) when
connecting peripherals to cables.
Inside the back of the IPE cabinet, on the left and right of the backplane
cover, are the NT8D37 IPE cabinet I/O panels, as shown in Figure 4-10.
The key telephone connectors of each four-port cable are connected to
these panels. The connectors on the panel are labeled with a letter between
A and U. Each lettered connector is connected to a corresponding slot at the
front of the Option 21–81.
Connect the four-port cables to the IPE cabinet connectors. Make sure the
connectors are secure. Table 4-6 shows to which connectors on the I/O
panel Cable A (NT1R03AA) and Cable B (NT1R03BA) connect depending
on the slot placement of the Meridian MAX IPE/IPE-E in the Option
21–81. For example, if your Meridian MAX IPE/IPE-E module occupies
slots 4, 5, 6, and 7, Cable A connects to connector H and Cable B connects
to connector E.
