Meridian MAX
Installation Guide
Product release 8
Configuring the Meridian 1 NT6D80 MSDL card for use
with Single Terminal Access
Single Terminal Access (STA), available with X11 Release 19 and greater,
provides integrated access to operation, administration, and maintenance
(OA&M) functions for the systems it monitors. By reducing the number of
physical devices needed to administer a Meridian 1 system and its
subsystems, one terminal allows you to access the Meridian 1 and up to
three other applications including Meridian MAX.
To configure the Multi-purpose Serial Data Link (MSDL) card for use with
Single Terminal Access (STA) on the Meridian 1, follow the steps in
Procedure 12-2.
Before configuring your MSDL card on the Meridian 1 for use with STA,
the following criteria must be met:
• Switch settings on the MSDL card must be correct for Meridian MAX
as well as other applications using STA.
• Port 0 on the MSDL card must be available for the configuration of an
STA administration terminal which acts like a switchboard between the
multiple applications.
• At least two ports must be available to configure your STA
administration terminal as well as Meridian MAX on your MSDL card.
