Note:
The baud rate setting should not be changed from the default,
unless you are using a dial-up connection. This parameter is used by
the Meridian MAX to communicate with the supervisor displays.

The
Host Name or IP Address
field is only available when the
connection type is set to LAN. This entry is either the name given to the
MAX or the address of the MAX on the LAN. To edit this field, cursor to
it and press the {F3} key. Press it again when you are done entering the
Host Name or the IP Address. The {F1} and {F2} keys disappear when
you cursor to this field.

Port
field is set
to COM1 or COM2.

18 To save the changes made to the default configuration, press the
[SAVE CONFIG] function key.
A file named MTE.CFG is created in the current directory.
Each time the MTE program is started, it looks for this file in the current
directory. If it is found, the information stored there is used as the
starting configuration.
If this file is not found, or the format of the file is incorrect, the default
configuration (as seen in steps 16 and 17) is used.
To start MTE, change the DOS directory to the one in which you
installed the MTE software. For example, CD C:\MERIDIAN.
Enter MTE followed by {RETURN}.
19 The Supervisor Login screen appears. For instructions on setting up
your VT220, VT420, VT520, or HP workstation, refer to the
“Workstations” chapter.
20 To exit MTE, simultaneously press {CONTROL}{ALT}{X}. This key
combination returns control to DOS.
