Hardware replacements
CAUTION
Risk of equipment damage
Use an antistatic wrist strap before you remove
components from an antistatic bag. Failure to do
so results in damage to components.
All replacements must be performed by qualified technicians.
CAUTION
Risk of data corruption
Shut down the system from the maintenance menu,
then secure the system before powering down the
module.
If you are adding a module to your system, power
down the column. Once the appropriate equipment
is powered down, remove the column’s faceplate
and back plate for the appropriate shelf.

chapter for more information.
Procedure 4-2 details instructions on performing a hardware replacement.
Procedure 4-2
To perform the hardware replacement
1 Shut down the Meridian MAX software, then ensure that the power to
the IPE module is turned off.
Refer to the “Meridian MAX power-down procedure” chapter for
instructions on how to shut down the Meridian MAX software.
2 Remove the Meridian MAX IPE/IPE-E module from the Option 11 or
Option 21
–81.
Move the latches at the top and bottom of the module to the unlatched
position. Slowly slide the module along the slots and remove it from the
cabinet.
