HP LaserJet series II, III, 4, 4 Plus, and 5Si MX

The LaserJet series II, III, 4, 4 Plus, and 5Si MX are laser printers. Table

7-3 shows the option settings for the LaserJet series II. Table 7-4 shows the

option settings for the LaserJet series III. Table 7-5 shows the option

settings for the LaserJet series 4. Table 7-6 shows the option settings for the

LaserJet series 4 Plus. Table 7-7 shows the option settings for the LaserJet

series 5Si MX.

Use the {Menu} key on the front panel to check/set the options. Switch the

printer off-line, then press the {Menu} key to access the first group of

settings. Hold the {Menu} key down for about five seconds (when the

printer is off-line) to access the second group of settings. Press the {+} or

{–} key until the correct setting appears to change an option. Press the

{Enter/Reset Menu} key to save a selection. Press the {Menu} key to

continue. Press the {On-line} key to exit the menu.

Note 1 : The HP LaserJet 4 Plus requires a specific HP cable when

connecting the printer to a 9-pin serial connector. Contact

Hewlett-Packard for more information regarding this cable.

Note 2: To connect a LaserJet series 5Si MX printer to the Meridian

MAX, you must select the LaserJet series 4 option from the Meridian

MAX menu.

Note 3: If you wish to connect another type of HP LaserJet series 5

printer to the Meridian MAX, verify with your HP distributor that it

will be compatible.
